Obviously we have been behind on updating, we apologize. Before Saudi's departure we went on a mini excursion to bid farewell and visit ole friends. We attended our good friends wedding, partied, and had an all around great time traveling...

As most of our readers know Saudi will be moving to Rwanda this coming June for Peace Corps. Rwanda is a very unique country compared to its neighbors in the beautiful continent of Africa. The genocide that took place against ethnic groups was one of the worst massacres in the world. With that said the country has since worked to heal these severe wounds and rebuild leaving the past behind and looking toward the future. This is Rwanda at twenty....

She lost her baby daughter and her right hand to a manic killing spree. He wielded the machete that took both.
Yet today, despite coming from opposite sides of an unspeakable shared past, Alice Mukarurinda and Emmanuel Ndayisaba are friends. She is the treasurer and he the vice-president of a group that builds simple brick houses for genocide survivors. They live near each other and shop at the same market.
Talk about the power of forgiveness....Forward ever backward never Rwanda.......
